Axelle de Russé is an freelance French photojournalist working on long-term projects. Her work has been exhibited in numerous festivals and galleries, such as Visa pour l'image, Paris Photo and Artcurial. She received the CANON Women Photojournalist Award in 2007 for her work on the return of the concubines in China. In 2014, with the support of the National Centre of the Plastic Arts (CNAP), she followed the daily lives of women victims of sexual violence in the French army. Since the end of 2016, she has been regularly visiting Svalbard to document the consequences of global warming in the Arctic.
